Tile Installation Colorado Springs Cost

The easiest way to get an accurate estimate for the cost of your project is to give us a call!

How much does it cost to get tile installed in Colorado Springs, Colorado? Good question. It really depends on your project, how large the area is and where the tile installation area is located, what kind of tile you are wanting and how large the tile is. Let’s break that down for you!

The type of tile:

Tile is a great option because it has a range of looks, materials, sizes, shapes and colors. It is incredibly durable and water-resistant, unlike hardwood floors which scratch easily and can warp and stain from water damage. The most inexpensive type of tile is typically ceramic tile, followed by porcelain tile. Mosaic tiles tend to be pricier and quartz, marble and granite countertops can top the end of the spectrum. We install all of the following materials so call us today for a free quote! Wood-look or wood-like tile is a great option for customers who want the look of hardwood floors without having a real wood floor budget or having to deal with the maintenance of hardwood floors which scratch easily, especially in high-traffic areas.

The second determining factor for the price of tile installation is the size of the installation site. For example, if the site where we are installing tile is a large area such as a bedroom or living room floor, the price is likely to be higher than if we are tiling a smaller area. The size of the tile also makes a difference in the cost of installation. If the tiles are larger – even if the tile site is a large area – the price will likely be lower than if the tiles we are installing are smaller (like decorative tiles or mosaic tiles). Smaller tiles take longer to install and specialty tiles like mosaic tiles require more installation experience. The Colorado Springs Tile Installation team has more than 12 years experience working with custom tiles.

Our Process

We often get asked about doing it yourself installations. We typically recommend against DIY tile installations because to an untrained person, installations can be very time-consuming and risky when not completed by a professional. In kitchens and bathrooms, setting tile often takes place over walled areas with water pipes beneath which can be damaged during an inexperienced installation.

Demolition

If this is a remodel, first we have to remove the old wall or floor material. We are ready to come in and remove your old flooring wall material, current backsplash or old tile and anything else that’s in the way of your new tile installation. First comes the demolition. Before we are able to install your new tile, whatever was there before has to go. We are experts in keeping our workspace clean during the demolition and disposal process and we will educate you on how to keep your personal items and furniture safe and protected if they are in our work area. For larger projects we will discuss trash removal with you so that your home or business it as mess-free as possible while we remodel your space.

Preparation

After all of the old material has been removed from our workspace, we begin preparation. The first part of the preparation phase is creating a strong and flat surface where we will set the tile. At this time, we solidify which tile foundation or substrate on which we will lay the new tile. The most common substrates are drywall concrete cement and plywood. The differences depend on how your house or business was built and what materials were used. Another determining factor is what types of tile we are getting ready to install. We ensure that the substrate is free from debris and perfectly clean so that when we lay the tile it adheres to the substrate with no issue.

Installation

If you were doing a DIY tile job, you would have to rent or buy all of the tile setting materials yourself in Colorado Springs, CO. When you hire an experienced team of tile contractors like us at Colorado Springs Tile Installation, the great thing (besides getting a wonderfully transformed space) is that we come with our own tools and supplies. We have tile saws and manual tile cutters to cut the tile perfectly straight and with the appropriate measurements so that the tile not only lays flat and straight against the other tiles, but fits perfectly underneath sinks and cabinets, next to corners and around other edges.

Tile saws can be dangerous if you don’t know how to use them properly. Trust us with this work. We have state-of-the-art tile installation tools and all of the experience to go with them. We’ll bring our mortar mixer to ensure that we get the right mortar consistency for your tiles to adhere strongly and properly. Tile trowels are also important for smoothing out the mortar to ensure a perfectly flat, leveled, sticky finish to set the tile on. We use a tile leveling system and tile spacers to ensure that the tile is perfectly spaced and flat when the installation is complete.

Our Team

At Colorado Springs Tile Installation, we have more than 50 years of shared tile installing experience with our head tile contractors having at least 10 years of experience each. We have an award-winning body of work and would love to help transform your space – whether that’s creating a calming oasis out of your bathroom or a trendy pop of color in your kitchen.
